Samantha Olivier - Western Province and Protea under 30 I started playing Bowls at the age of 16 when my father introduced me to the game of Lawn Bowls. Although I was playing school hockey and tennis I found the game of bowls very interesting and very competitive. I loved it so much that I mostly focused on bowls as a sport. Within my first year of playing bowls I was invited to the trials for the Under 25’s Western Province side and was also selected to play Inter districts in 2011 (Bloemfontein) where we won bronze in my first U25 Inter Districts. This hooked me completely, and since then bowls became my first love in sports and my aim are to reach the highest level in the sport by representing South Africa. I started my bowls career with an old set of Henselite bowls. My dad took me to buy my first set of bowls and after rolling with several sets of different makes, I decided on a set of Taylor Ace SA bowls and have never looked back.
